NO we don’t mean kangaroos, koalas, or wombats. We mean their cousin – Opossums!!
From the Facebook of: Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources
Opossums, the only marsupials in North America, are found across Wisconsin, except for the northeast part of the state. They typically can be observed waddling slowly through woodland areas near streams, marshes or farmland.
To prepare for the colder months of the year, opossums fatten up on food, but they don’t plan on spending all winter in the den. Instead, they come out to look for food and will eat mice, rabbits and even birds.
