Welcome Patricia (Pat) Malone. Dodge County’s new Community Development Educator!
I am excited about coming to Dodge County as the Community Development Educator. I grew up on a farm in southwestern Minnesota. I have degrees in agricultural and applied economics from Virginia Tech and UW-Madison. I have spent the last 36 years in Trempealeau County working for Extension as a community development educator. I focused on a number of issues during that time ranging from recycling to drinking water testing to long term care reform to strategic planning and leadership development. I look forward to working with elected officials and the public to identify the priority issues in the county and developing educational programs to address them.
I married a man whose family originally settled in the Beaver Dam and the Brookfield area. We have two grown daughters who are both in healthcare. We are expecting our first grandchild this spring.
I am an active volunteer and have spent much of my volunteer time as a school board member, and most recently as the school board president. In my free time, I am an avid reader of fantasy and science history. My family enjoys sharing books and providing reading recommendations. To recharge, I am a fiber artist and enjoy knitting.
