Today on Hometown Today, Julia Oschwald Tilton, Human Development & Relationships Educator with Dodge County UW-Madison Division of Extension, discussed school phone policies and their impact on youth, families, and schools. She highlighted two helpful resources that can support families as schools implement new phone policies: the research-based Phone Ban Research Brief-2, which summarizes current findings on school phone bans, and Our Family Plan for School Phone Rules-2, a family guide designed to help parents and caregivers talk with their children, problem-solve concerns, and develop a plan for staying connected during the school day. We encourage families to explore these resources and continue the conversation at home.
