High heat and humidity can more easily impact infants and children, older adults, people who are pregnant, people who work or exercise in the heat, people without a home, and people with chronic conditions.
Extra precautions to help keep these groups safe include:
– Do not leave children alone in a car for any period of time
– Avoid activities during the hottest parts of the day
– Increase water consumption
– Stay alert to the signs and symptoms of heat-related illness
