Scientists Live is a virtual presentation series that gives high school aged youth (and interested 8th graders) an opportunity to meet real world scientists and learn a little about a wide variety of science-related careers! Two scientists are being featured over the lunch hour every Tuesday and Thursday through May 2020; Thursdays only in June. Each scientist gives a 12-minute presentation which is followed by a 10-minute Q & A period. Presentations are being recorded and will be posted in the weeks ahead for use by teachers, colleagues, and youth during the coming school year and beyond. A fact sheet/trading card handout featuring each of the scientists will also be posted. See the list of slated scientists, which is constantly being updated, at THIS LINK.
Participation provides a great way for youth to get some quick, yet meaningful exposure to some career paths they may have never even thought of before.
Scientists Live is the high school component of the 4-H Science Explorers program–a collaborative effort by Walworth, Crawford, and Lafayette County Extension.
